Kamet, Spicy Game, 2012

French climbers have established a new route on Kamet, one of the highest mountains in the Indian Himalaya. The expedition was organised by the Groupe Militaire de Haute Montagne (GHM). Sébastien Bohin, Didier Jourdan, Sébastien Moatti and Sébastien Ratel climbed the southwest face in a six-day alpine-style round trip from an advanced base camp at 5,800m on the Pashimi Kamet Glacier. The climbers have called their route "Spicy Game."

The upper part of the route takes a couloir near the centre of the southwest face of the mountain, with an exit high on the south ridge. The couloir involved climbing on steep snow slopes cut by icy rock barriers, with sections of F5+, 90° and some overhangs. The climbers reached the summit of Kamet on their fifth day of climbing, and then returned to their bivouac on the south ridge. On the following day they  descended the ridge by abseiling and downclimbing.

Members of the team suffered minor minor frostbite injuries.

"Spicy Game" is the first route to breach Kamet's southwest face.
