Satopanth ( 7075m ) via North Ridge

Himalaya, India

22 September 2011

Climbed by Martijn Schell, Simon Horenblas, Coen van den Berg, Bas van der Ploeg

Other members of the expedition: Christian Schlesener, Ski Sharp, Jaelah Kluivers, Joost Delissen, Luuk Nagel

Satopanth has been climbed by members of a Dutch-German-British expedition. They appear to have used the north ridge - the route taken on the first ascent of the mountain in 1947. Fixed ropes were used on some sections of the route. On the final 200 metres of the ridge, the climbers made use of ropes fixed by two high altitude porters from an Australian expedition.

Martijn Schell, Simon Horenblas, Coen van den Berg and Bas van der Ploeg reached the summit on 22 September.

The ascent date is given as 2012 in Indian Mountaineer, Vol 48. This appear be an error - it seems that the correct date is 2011
